Women In Film and Media Scholarships
Women In Film and Media presents a scholarship each year to a female student who is enrolled in a film or television production curriculum. Scholarships are presented to the student at the annual Opal Awards, which honors women in film and television and their achievements. The student must meet the following qualifications:
- Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate, graduate or film studies curriculum in a Pittsburgh area college / university or film school.
- Must submit their application during the specified timeline and present all the requested documentation.
- Must be able to meet with the scholarship committee for an interview.
- Must be able to attend the Opal Awards when scheduled.
Scholarship Process
The scholarship submission process begins on February 3, 2013 and ends on March 22, 2013. All submissions must be made according to the posted requirements and must be submitted via email to wifm.sch@gmail.com.
The Applications will be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee, and a recipient will be chosen by April 15, 2013. All submissions will be reviewed to determine an applicant’s dedication to her program, the quality and merits of the work completed, and volunteer service, if any, given to the community. All scholarships will be presented at the WIFM Movies & Martinis Event on April 24, 2013.
Available Scholarships
Amy Lamb Scholarship: A scholarship check of $1,000 will be presented to a student enrolled in a film production curriculum. The applications will be reviewed by the Amy Lamb Scholarship Committee and presented at the Opal Awards. Learn more…
Point Park University Scholarship: A scholarship in the amount of $2,500 is presented to a student enrolled in a film or television production curriculum at Point Park University. The scholarship is given as tuition deduction. The applications are reviewed by the WIFM Scholarship Committee, which selects the winner. Learn more…
